Rescue Story

Baxter came to Sunny Bear Rescue after being removed from a neglect situation where life had been painfully inconsistent for a long time. When he first arrived, you could tell he wanted affection, but he also seemed unsure if it was really meant for him.

Simple things took time.

A soft bed confused him. Toys didn’t make much sense. Even relaxing seemed unfamiliar at first. Baxter spent his early days quietly watching the other dogs, slowly learning from them that life could actually feel safe and predictable.

Then one morning somebody brought cinnamon rolls into the rescue house, and Baxter suddenly became VERY interested in human activities.

From that point on, he became everyone’s little shadow anytime food was involved. Honestly, if you opened a wrapper within a three-mile radius, Baxter somehow appeared beside you like a fluffy magician.

As his confidence grew, so did his goofy, affectionate personality. Before long, Baxter transformed into the kind of dog who wanted to be included in absolutely everything — snack breaks, couch time, laundry folding, emotional support bathroom trips… all of it.

Today Baxter is living the spoiled, love-filled life he always deserved with a family who completely adores him.
