Rescue Story

Harper came to Sunny Bear Rescue after being rescued from a puppy mill where she had spent most of her life without much kindness or comfort. When she first arrived, everything seemed unfamiliar to her — soft beds, toys, grass beneath her paws, and people simply wanting to love her.

At first, Harper stayed close to the walls and watched everything carefully. Loud noises startled her, and she wasn’t quite sure what to do when other dogs tried to play with her. But little by little, she began learning something she probably should have known all along: life could actually be fun.

One of Harper’s biggest breakthroughs came when she discovered blankets. Specifically, stealing blankets. If there was a cozy spot in the house, Harper somehow claimed it first and acted like she had personally paid the mortgage.

As her confidence grew, so did her sweet and affectionate personality. Before long, she transformed into the kind of dog who quietly follows you from room to room just wanting to be near her people.

Today Harper is living the spoiled, cozy life she always deserved with a family who absolutely adores her.
