Rescue Story

Diego came to Sunny Bear Rescue after being picked up as a stray wandering through a rural area in the Mid-Atlantic with no collar, no microchip, and no one coming forward to claim him. By the time he arrived, it was obvious he had been surviving on his own for a while.

At first, Diego wasn’t quite sure what to think about rescue life. He kept a careful distance, watched everything closely, and acted like accepting affection might somehow be a trap. But the second snacks entered the conversation, his tough-guy act started falling apart pretty quickly.

Once Diego realized he was safe, his personality came alive. He became playful, loyal, and incredibly attached to the people he trusted. He also developed a strong opinion that every blanket in the house belonged specifically to him, which he defended with the confidence of a tiny king guarding his kingdom.

Before long, Diego found a family who saw exactly how special he was and gave him the stable, loving home he had always deserved.
