Rescue Story

Chance came to Sunny Bear Rescue after being pulled from a shelter euthanasia list with only a short amount of time left. By the time he arrived, he looked emotionally exhausted — like life had taught him not to expect much from people anymore.

At first, Chance moved carefully through the house, unsure of every sound and every new experience. He wanted affection, but you could tell he was still trying to figure out if it was truly safe to trust people again.

The breakthrough came slowly.

One day he started wagging his tail when volunteers walked into the room. Then he started following the other dogs outside. Then eventually came the moment every rescue loves to see — Chance got the zoomies for the very first time.

And honestly? The boy never looked back after that.

Once he realized life could actually be fun, Chance fully committed to making up for lost time. Toys became serious business, blankets became treasures, and every meal was celebrated like he had just won the lottery.

Today Chance is living the happy, secure life he always deserved with a family who absolutely adores his goofy personality and giant heart.
